CLOTH & CORD - Wearable Art

Updated: Nov 29, 2023

I've always appreciated jewelry that can stand out on its own as an artistic piece. Jewelry, no matter what you wear, that stands out as something to be acknowledged - a conversation piece. That's exactly what I've found in the beautifully crafted jewelry at Cloth & Cord.

Cloth & Cord, creates and sells wearable art in the form of jewelry & accessories that has been featured in Disney’s – “Tale of a Lion King” musical, Essence Magazine which has a readership of over 8 million, Bella Naija which is ranked as one of Africa’s top 10 African entertainment websites, locally in Houstonia Magazine which is Houston’s largest local Magazine and has also been featured on Houston Life daytime talk show which is broadcast LIVE on KPRC-2 in the Houston Galleria. Cloth and Cord is also sold in boutiques locally and internationally. The company was born out of a love for unique prints, quality craftsmanship, and an affinity for unusual statement pieces.

Owner, head designer, and speaker, Ellana Kone’ took her first sewing classes in high school at the old historic New Orleans Krauss department store on Canal Street in New York. There she learned the basics of sewing with a pattern. She was later mentored by a long-time seamstress and bridal gown designer and taught how to give her garments a professional touch. Ellana began making gowns, coats, pants, and accessories that people admired and began filling custom order requests. Unfortunately out of fear she did not follow her passion. She would later become a lead software developer for a fortune 500 company and work within IT for over 10 years but the love of sewing and art never went away. She later left her cushy six-figure job on a leap of faith to start Cloth and Cord, formerly, E. Turner Couture. She has always had a love for beautiful abstract art and that love is now captured through the Cloth & Cord brand. Five years later and she hasn’t looked back!

To experience these pieces for yourself, go to Cloth & Cord for a visual experience and purchase.
